Fungi-based food ingredient supplier MycoTechnology has announced a new collaboration with stevia solution provider Adorvia Biotechnology to create new tools for natural sugar reduction and optimised, low- and no-calorie sweetener blends with clean, sugar-like taste profiles.
The pair will combine MycoTechnology's Zukora Honey Truffle Sweet Protein with Adrovi's proprietary Reb M stevia to create new sweetener systems for product developers that closely match sugar's taste profile and sweetness curve while reducing calories and addressing common formulation challenges associated with high-intensity sweeteners.
Key elements of the collaboration include the following:
- combining scientific and application expertise to optimise sweetener blends for food and beverage manufacturers
- conducting joint go-to-market activities in North America under a signed collaboration agreement
- appointing Adorvia Biotechnology as MycoTechnology's exclusive distributor in China for ClearIQ Natural Flavor, a multifunctional flavour modifier created through mushroom mycelial fermentation to help improve the taste of better-for-you foods and beverages.
