KitoZyme, the Belgian biotech company – which drives innovation in the field of digestive health OTC products by introducing its private label medical devices across the globe – has developed two new products that provide relief for constipation, bloating and abdominal pain.
A unique prebiotic
The products are based on the KiOtransine technology, a patented prebiotic developed by KitoZyme in collaboration with leading universities in nutritional science.
KitoZyme has demonstrated the unique nature of its ingredient in several studies, as well as its benefits for gut microbiota, and its positive effects on bowel movement and general wellbeing.
This low-dose prebiotic increases the production of short-chain fatty acids like butyrate and propionate, and is a perfect carbon-source for Bifidobacteria, particularly Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium breve.
KitoZyme has also proven that KiOtransine ferments very slowly, all along the colon, which is very different to other fibres. With KiOtransine, you receive all the benefits of fibre, without the inconvenience.
Transibiota: a soft, natural, pain-free treatment for constipation
Constipation is a major concern for many people around the world, and nowadays consumers struggle to find a product that meets their needs.
From interviews and tests conducted by KitoZyme amongst GPs, gastroenterologists, pharmacists and patients, it seems that the most pressing need is to restore “regularity”. The majority of those who suffer from constipation also talk about how they go from illness to diarrhoea, then back to constipation again, without ever really feeling well in their gut.
On addition, most current remedies, including natural ones, can cause abdominal pain and cramps.
Based on the comments obtained during studies, KitoZyme has developed Transibiota; a soft, natural and effective treatment to help with constipation and restore regularity.
This medical device class IIa provides patients and healthcare professionals with the answer they have been looking for, as well as the consumer healthcare industry that is in search of strong claims supported by scientific evidence.
Transibiota is available for distribution under private label in many countries in Europe, Asia and the United States.
Fast, effective relief of gas and bloating with Gastrap Direct
Gastrap Direct has recently been launched on several markets by IPSEN Pharma, meeting consumers’ needs for fast, effective relief of gas-related complaints.
The product combines simethicone - a safe ingredient that’s clinically proven to reduce gas, with the new prebiotic KiOtransine.
The combination of these ingredients immediately reduces gas, in addition to relieving abdominal distension, flatulence and abdominal pain. It can also help to normalise intestinal function.
Gastrap Direct is available in very convenient “direct-to-mouth” orodispersible powder sticks. KitoZyme is currently looking for partners to distribute it in several European countries.
The publication pipeline
KitoZyme was founded by the University of Liège almost 20 years ago, and its DNA is in the research. Ongoing clinical trials and the results of several tests will be published in the coming months, offering further scientific and marketing tools to its partners and distributors.
The team is particularly involved in studies that look at gut microbiota, inflammation and pain, and will continue to offer innovative solutions to its customers in future.
