Kemin Industries has received approval from the Thai Food and Drug administration (TFDA) of its beta-glucan ingredient for immune support, BetaVia Complete, as a Novel Food in Thailand.
BetaVia Complete is derived from Euglena gracilis, Kemin’s proprietary strain of algae known for its high level of beta-1,3-glucan and protein content, which also contains essential fatty acids. After a thorough review of BetaVia Complete’s safety for human consumption, TFDA has allowed its use in food supplements as a source of beta-glucan at a dosage of 375 milligrams per day.
"We are incredibly proud that BetaVia Complete successfully passed TFDA’s rigorous safety evaluation," said Masafumi Hashimoto, Director of Sales, Kemin Human Nutrition and Health.
