IMCD Group, a distributor and formulator of speciality chemicals and ingredients, has inaugurated a newly integrated headquarters and laboratory hub in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The revamped site was inaugurated on 5 February 2026 and brings together all IMCD Malaysia headquarters and laboratory facilities under one roof.
The new location is designed to support the customers and suppliers of its Beauty & Personal Care, Food & Nutrition and Home Care I&I Business Groups.
The company has said that it combines technical capability, application development and customer engagement spaces to make collaboration easier, faster and more effective.
This move builds on IMCD’s continued investment in life science and speciality markets in Southeast Asia, following the acquisition of Euro Chemo-Pharma and its subsidiary Biofresh in 2023.
It also reflects a clear focus on working closer to customers, sharing expertise across end markets and co-creating practical, sustainable solutions.
A shared space built around collaboration
The new Kuala Lumpur hub brings together technical and commercial teams who previously worked across different locations.
Customers and suppliers can now access multiple end-market experts, laboratories and application capabilities in one place.
Digital tools, logistics expertise and local market insight sit alongside technical capability, reinforcing IMCD’s focus on commercial and operational excellence.
IMCD has said that it will continue to invest in local expertise and shared capabilities that support long-term partnerships across markets, with the company already having more than 80 laboratories worldwide and a presence in more than 60 countries.
The site includes a Food & Nutrition Applications Laboratory and Bistro equipped for the development of formulation and concepts across food, bakery and confectionery.
The Bistro serves as a tasting and discussion space and experience room where customers can experience finished applications and explore ideas with IMCD teams.
Together, the Bistro and Applications Laboratory provide an immersive, hands-on environment where customers co-create trend-driven formulation solutions, moving efficiently from ideation, functional recipe and processing support, to indulgent ready-to-evaluate samples with expert technical support.
The Beauty & Personal Care Laboratory and Beauty Studio support formulation development for skin care, sun care, hair care, toiletries and colour cosmetics.
The Beauty Studio is designed for speed and flexibility, offering more than 20 market-ready chassis formulations based on consumer trends and proven ingredient technologies, enabling tailored prototypes in as little as half a day.
The Home Care I&I Laboratory focuses on applications such as laundry, dishwashing, surface care, vehicle care, air care and pet care, with equipment that supports testing, formulation optimisation and troubleshooting.
Across all laboratories, the emphasis is on practical development, shared problem solving and helping partners move from idea to application with confidence.
By working side by side with suppliers, IMCD teams help customers make products with a positive impact, using a broad and deep portfolio combined with strong formulation know-how.
Commenting on the opening, Serene Cheng, Managing Director of IMCD Malaysia, said: "This is about bringing people together."
"By combining our teams, laboratories and equipment in one shared space, we make it easier for our technical and end-market experts to work closely with each other, and with our customers and suppliers."
"That collaboration is what drives better outcomes and reflects how we work every day, winning together as a team."
