dsm-firmenich has expanded its life's omega-3 nutraceutical portfolio with the launch of life'sDHA B54-0100.
The functional ingredient, which will be launched worldwide following this announcement, will be the company's most potent DHA oil to date.
According to dsm, life'sDHA B54-0100 delivers 545mg of DHA and 80mg of EPA per gram — providing users with 620mg of omega-3s in one serving.
Through this highly concentrated oil, dietary supplement makers can create smaller and more cost effective capsules with high bioactivity.
The DHA oil is also free of fishy odours — opening up the door for more desirable supplement modalities such as gummies or chews.
As the DHA in this product is extracted directly from algae, it also offers as a sustainable and contaminant-free alternative to traditional fish oils on the market.

Further expansion of the life's portfolio
Not only has dsm-firmenich launched an all-new DHA ingredient, but it has also introduced life'sOMEGA O3020 to the North American market.
This product had also previously received regulatory approval in EMEA, and is the first and only algal omega-3 with the same EPA to DHA ratio found in a standard fish oil.
According to the company, it also has twice the potency, while also having desirable organoleptic properties.
dsm-firmenich will also be launching some high-potency EPA ingredients in early 2025.
