Capsule manufacturing specialist ACG has introduced the first fully vegan printed capsule suitable for nutraceuticals to the market.
The capsules are crafted from plant-based polymers such as Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC), and have been certified by both Vegan Action and the Vegetarian Society.
ACG's capsule solution will offer supplement manufacturers the chance to create vegan-friendly capsules — supporting the growing demand for sustainable and cruelty-free options.
According to the company, the capsules also rely less on synthetic chemicals, meaning a cleaner production process.
By utilising a fully vegan capsule, ACG notes that supplement brands can gain a "competitive edge" and "stand out from other nutraceutical companies in a growing market segment".
"By supplying the nutraceutical industry with out vegan printed capsules, we can empower brands to meet the rising demand for animal-free, environmentally conscious solutions," comments Dr Subhashis Chakraborty, Head of Global Product Management, ACG Capsules.
"These capsules have the potential to foster greater transparency and trust among consumers."
The vegan printed capsules are now available with three ink colour options — green black and brown.
These ink colours can be applied across ACG's entire HPMC capsule portfolio.
