According to recent studies, nutrient decline is going to leave our bodies with fewer of the components they need to mount defences against chronic diseases.
The quality of nutrients in harvested crops has been declining over the past 70 years, with mounting evidence from multiple scientific studies showing that many fruits and vegetables today contain less protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron and vitamin C than ever before. This is especially poignant for those following a primarily plant-based diet, who have an increased need for continued supplementation.
The addition of the nine single nutrients is the next step in Performance Lab's journey to enhance the availability of nutrition technology to the general public. The nine supplements form part of the NutriGenesis vitamins and minerals range, which mirror the nutrients found in our food.
The nine supplements are Vitamin B-Complex, Calcium, Iodine, Iron Complex, Magnesium, Potassium, Selenium, Vitamin C and Zinc.
In the NutriGenesis process, micronutrients are introduced into a growth medium, containing single-cell organisms like brewer's yeast and botanicals.
The live single-cell organisms ‘eat' the micronutrients, divide and thrive. As the cultures grow, they produce fresh new vitamins and minerals, which can be easily absorbed and utilised by the body. It is these vitamins and minerals that are used in Performance Lab's new line.
The research-backed formula is gentle on the stomach, 100% plant-based and doesn't include any artificial fillers, binders or excipients.
"We are so excited to launch this new line of single nutrients", says Performance Lab founder Dave Wright. "Following the reception of our NutriGenesis MultiVitamin technology, we felt the time was right to introduce a line of simple to understand, effective supplements that are both clean and effectual.
"Our single nutrient vitamins combine the right dosage with enhanced absorption capabilities, ensuring one single capsule per day is everything our customers need for a healthy life."
