French ingredients supplier Nexira has said its new spray- drying tower located in Marudur, in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, is now fully operational to serve all its customers in India.
The tower was built in partnership with Synthite, the world’s largest producer of spice oleoresins. Synthite offers a wide array of natural ingredients for the food, health and fragrance industries.
With this new state-of-the-art production facility operated in partnership with Synthite, Nexira can supply large quantities of spray-dried gum acacia dedicated to this growing Indian market.
Nexira opened its office in Mumbai in 2012 to serve the requirements of both global and local customers in one of the fastest-growing markets in the world.
With India as the world’s largest consumer of gum acacia, Indian food and grocery industry ranks as the sixth largest in the world, according to data by Innova Market Insight.
Foreign investors, multinationals and local companies are seeing this potential and are investing in the Indian food processing sector.
Spray-dried gum acacia
Today with this new state-of-the-art production facility operated in partnership with Synthite, Nexira can supply large quantities of spray-dried gum acacia dedicated to this growing Indian market.

The Indian production unit is certified FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, BRC, KOSHER, HALAL and SEDEX.
Nexira employs a team based in Mumbai and Marudur and provides technical assistance and sales support to Indian customers. The new production and warehouse facilities will enable Nexira to answer specific market and customer’s needs across India.
Indian customers will be supported to develop new formulations using gum acacia for its unrivalled technological properties and for claiming nutritional or health benefits.
Nexira and Synthite will officially inaugurate the new production facility at the end of September.
The french ingredients supplier will exhibit at FI India (Mumbai) in October and will present a wide range of applications of gum acacia in the food industry.
