Robertet and Fleur de Vie have collaborated to develop Spiruline Safe, a spirulina ingredient produced through a controlled process for the supplement and food & beverage market.
Fleur de Vie developed the ingredient’s production process with full traceability within a certified food safety environment. The process, which the company says is highly sustainable, uses the residual heat from a neighbour industrial site.
Robertet brings its overall ingredient expertise, and has invested a substantial minority stake in Fleur de Vie. It will actively promote Spiruline Safe while working on combinations with other proprietary ingredients to develop products for the dietary supplement and functional food markets.
Following this collaboration, the companies plan to work together on future micro algae developments.
A dedicated production site will be completed second semester 2021 in the South West of France, which will be the first step of an international expansion program. The companies aim to market Spiruline Safe before the end of the year.
