German vitamin supplier Taiyo has announced its novel moringa seed extract and Sunfiber combination, MorActive, is now Informed Ingredient certified.
This confirms that MorActive is free of impurities and substances banned in sports nutrition products, and is also a first step in helping customers comply with Amazon’s dietary supplement safety documentation.
MorActive has been shown to have a clinically significant effect on lower back discomfort at a very low dose. Additionally, Taiyo’s Sunfiber is used as the nutritional carrier to eliminate the need for maltodextrin.
Taiyo has previously achieved the Informed Ingredient certification for its other functional ingredients including Sunfiber, Suntheanine, Matcha, Teavigo and SunActive IsoQ, and is committed to adding even more of its products to this list in the near future.
LGC’s Informed Ingredient certification is an ambitious and thorough testing process that involves the ingredient and the entire manufacturing process. This voluntary program assures brand manufacturers that ingredients have been routinely tested for a wide range of prohibited substances, and are therefore safe to be used by athletes without concerns of adulteration or contamination.
With a published clinical study showing that low-dose MorActive reduces back discomfort and fatigue, especially in healthy volunteers with more severe back discomfort, MorActive represents a new generation of dietary ingredients with gold-standard science-backing, clean label and certified for sports active consumers
“This certification adds quality assurance and enhances brand credibility,” comments Taiyo International Vice President Scott Smith. “Taiyo continues investing the time and effort into Informed Ingredient certification for our products as it provides our customers the additional confidence that Taiyo’s ingredients are not only effective but also safe for athletes and general consumers wanting further transparency in the products they consume.”
Informed Ingredient certification is also a huge convenience for customers who sell dietary supplements on Amazon because it is a first step in LGC’s Informed Choice and Informed Sport certification, which in addition to evaluating the raw ingredient and manufacturing process also involves a monthly retail monitoring and testing program. LGC’s certification is one of Amazon’s approved third-party quality certification programs required for selling dietary supplements on its site.
Smith continued: “Taiyo stands ready to help our customers with their Informed Choice and Informed Sport certifications, and Amazon compliance.”
Michael Lelah, PhD, Chief Science Officer at NutriScience Innovations said: “NutriScience has partnered with Taiyo to bring MorActive to both sports performance, and health and wellness consumers. With a published clinical study showing that low-dose MorActive reduces back discomfort and fatigue, especially in healthy volunteers with more severe back discomfort, MorActive represents a new generation of dietary ingredients with gold-standard science-backing, clean label and certified for sports active consumers.”
