Stratum Nutrition has announced the publication of the third independent study for their triple-action joint health ingredient, NEM, which confirms its fast efficacy with statistical improvements in pain and stiffness after only 10 days.
The Journal of Arthritis recently published a single-centre, 2-month open-label study designed to evaluate the efficacy of Stratum's flagship ingredient, NEM brand eggshell membrane, in the reduction of joint pain, stiffness and functional disability in 70 patients with mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis.
Evaluation of NEM supplementation proved to be both safe and effective, with WOMAC pain, VAS pain, and Luquesne Algofunctional Index pain all demonstrating statistically significant reductions after only 10 days of supplementation with NEM.
By the end of the 2-month study, these reductions in pain reached 52%, 49%, & 39%, respectively.
The independent medical researchers also noted that after 60 days of NEM supplementation, there were no differences in overall WOMAC scores or overall Lequesne scores between patients with Kellgren-Lawrence (KL) grade 1, grade 2 or grade 3 radiographically diagnosed osteoarthritis (OA).
“In practice, this means that the symptoms of KL grade 3 OA sufferers improved so substantially that they had the symptoms of only KL grade 1 OA after consuming NEM for just 60 days,” said Kevin Ruff, Senior Director of Scientific & Regulatory Affairs for Stratum Nutrition.
