OmniActive Health Technologies, a developer of functional carotenoids, has launched an educational campaign to inform consumers on the benefits of lutein supplementation for eye health.
The company is calling it “An ‘Eye’ on a Healthy School Year”, and the initiative will sit under the umbrella of a larger campaign to educate families and healthcare practitioners on the benefits of lutein and zeaxanthin supplementation for every age.
It will focus on educating families on how they can best support their wellness, and how supplements can play an important role in this.
Throughout the scheme, OmniActive will also partner with supplement brands to provide consumers with resources, recommendations and coupons.
Dr Tanya Altmann, a nationally renowned paediatrician, will also join the campaign. When discussing the campagin, she said: "As a pediatrician and mother of three, my mission has always been to promote the health and well-being of children through an integrative approach."
"Joining OmniActive's initiative allows me to share new research findings and supplement recommendations to help families prioritise their children's health, leading to brighter futures.”
The company estimates that children of a school age spend more than a quarter of their day on digital devices, while 60% of parents regularly worry about their child’s eye health.
Therefore, focusing on educating parents on how to benefit eye health is crucial, according to OmniActive.
