Natac Group (NAT), a biotech company specialising in the sustainable production of botanical extracts and functional oils with proven health benefits, has received the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) quality certificate from the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Products (AEMPS), under the authority of the Spanish Ministry of Health.
Specifically, the ruling issued by the Agency states that, “having evaluated the capabilities of the staff, facilities and equipment, as well as the company’s documentation, we conclude that the company Natac Biotech complies with the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice for active ingredients in the European Union.”
The GMP certificate will allow the factory in Hervás, Cáceres, to manufacture ingredients for the pharmaceutical industry that are based on medicinal plants such as passion flower, thereby guaranteeing the quality and safety of the product.
Antonio Delgado, CEO of Natac, expressed his satisfaction over receiving the GMP certificate, after much hard work. "Achieving this seal of quality represents a new milestone for our company. When we went public, achieving this certification was included in our guidance, and we have achieved it. The GMP will allow us to diversify our product portfolio by incorporating APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients), and will help us to expand our portfolio of national and international customers, doubling our current target market”.
The GMP certificate is added to the long list of seals of quality and guarantee held by Natac’s production plants, such as the FSSC 22000, ISO14001, Kosher and Halal certificates, among others.
