Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) is to bring its extended health and wellness offering to CPhI Worldwide, as it demonstrates the breadth and depth of its enhanced pharmaceutical and nutrition capabilities.
At booth 8C122, ADM Biopolis will showcase its bioactive portfolio, whereas ADM SIO highlights its pharmaceutical-grade purified vegetable oils for use as APIs and excipients in injectable, oral or topical formulations.
The innovative concepts available on stand include probiotic sticks and probiotic capsules.
Data from research projects looking into the potential for these probiotics to be used in the treatment and prevention of atopic dermatitis and mild to moderate psoriasis, and for use in weight management products will be available on stand and can be discussed further with colleagues from ADM Biopolis.
With its latest clinical trials focusing on skin health and weight management, ADM Biopolis is a leader in probiotics and microbiome research — having published more than 100 scientific papers to date.
“Our world-class R&D team continues to explore future applications for our microbial technologies in line with increased demand for innovation and personalised nutrition solutions,” explains Daniel Ramon Calvo, Marketing and Communications Manager, ADM Biopolis.
“Now as ADM, we have expertise across all stages of product development. This in-depth knowledge means we can support both pharmaceutical and food supplement customers in creating the next generation microbiome and biotech-based products for better living. We are, for instance, specialists in microbial strain and bioprocess design and development through cell factories.”
ADM SIO continues to pioneer techniques to manage the natural variability of plant-based pharmaceutical ingredients.
“Excipients are used in all drug formulations and are essential for product manufacturing and performance. We take advantage of our purification and analytical expertise to offer highly purified oils from vegetable origins, produced in our cGMP workshops, and compliant with the latest requirements from the main health authorities” adds Hervé Sibillat, General Manager, ADM SIO.
Last month, ADM completed the acquisition of Probiotics International Limited — known for its umbrella brand Protexin. ADM Protexin’s innovative, research-based probiotics, including the popular Bio-Kult and Lepicol brands, will be on show in the Finished Dosage Formulations Zone (booth 14.0H2).
