Ingredion, a global functional ingredients supplier, has launched its FIBERTEX range in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
The range consists of FIBERTEX CF 500 and FIBERTEX CF 100 — two multi-benefit citrus fibres that are designed to improve the texture of nutritional products.
These functional fibres will be available in APAC by August, and by the end of the year in the US and Canada.
The EMEA Business Manager for texture solutions at Ingredion, Constantin Drapatz, commented: “Consumers continue to turn away from traditional additives and unrecognisable ingredients, attracted by products with naturally sourced, authentic components, improved nutrition and appealing packaging claims. Our range of citrus fibres can allow brands to create these products effectively and at a good price.”
The upcycled citrus fibres are designed to provide viscosifying power, gelling and texture stability.
According to Ingredion, FIBERTEX CF 500 and FIBERTEX CF 100 can fully or partially replace ingredients such as eggs, oil, and tomato solids in a number of food applications.
Ingredion’s 2023 ATLAS consumer research found that 99% of European manufacturers believe that clean label products are essential to the market, and as citrus fibres grow in popularity, the company urges manufacturers to give these solutions a go.
