Aker BioMarine has recently announced the launch of FloraMarine, a novel algae oil with a concentration of 60% — the highest available on the market.
From a composition standpoint, FloraMarine is positioned to meet customer and consumers market demands alike—it’s a natural triglyceride that is minimally processed with zero molecular up-concentration of the DHA needed.
FloraMarine is also sustainable, with the manufacturing process being solvent free and minimally impactful on marine resources.
“Red meets green is one of the best ways to describe the addition of FloraMarine to our ingredient portfolio,” says Simon Seward, CEO, Human Health Ingredients. “While krill oil remains the flagship ingredient in our business, we recognise the need for a high-quality plant-based omega-3 source that delivers valuable DHA with specific effects on a wide range of functions including brain, eye, maternal and foetal health.”
“At a time when the marine omega-3 category is facing supply challenges due to climate and environmental impacts, which limit the availability of traditional fish oil, we are offering a unique and stable solution to the industry.”
Standard, natural triglyceride fish and algae oils are low in concentration and need to be up-concentrated and molecularly altered into ethyl esters or re-esterified triglyceride molecules, but this is not the case with FloraMarine.
What sets FloraMarine apart from other marine sourced oils on the market is:
- The highest natural concentration level of DHA on the market
- A natural triglyceride form with no molecular alteration or up-concentration of DHA needed
- The health halo combination of plant-based product benefits, paired with environmentally friendly & sustainable practices
- The associated health benefits supporting the brain, eyes and nervous system
- A clean and pure product form, with no impact on marine resources
