US nutrition company ADM has announced an expansion of its protein portfolio with eight new soy and pea protein solutions.
With consumers increasingly seeking a wider variety of protein options that align with dietary preferences, lifestyle goals and environmental considerations, plant-based proteins — particularly soy and pea — are well-placed to cater to this shift.
"Protein is one of the most dynamic areas of nutrition, with consumers now asking for more variety, functionality and choices than ever before," said Greg Dodson, Vice President, Protein, North America, ADM.
With new ingredient introductions and expanding capabilities in facilities across the globe, ADM is uniquely positioned to not only meet that demand at scale, but to also help shape the future of protein innovation.
The new product launches include the following:
- ProFam 883: soy protein isolate with clean taste, high solubility and dispersibility for ideal smoothness and great-tasting, protein-rich beverages and powders
- ProFam 894: soy protein isolate with clean taste, light colour and medium viscosity, ideal for Greek-style yoghurt alternatives, yoghurt drinks and dairy alternatives
- Arcon IH: lower viscosity, functional soy protein concentrate designed to support formulation cost-in-use while maintaining the texture and juiciness consumers expect in applications such as ham and pork chops
- Arcon SB: soy protein concentrate delivering texture and functionality while improving product yield cost-effectively in applications such as ground meat applications
- Arcon 412: cost-effective soy protein concentrate supporting optimal texture and juiciness in many meat applications, such as deli meats and chicken nuggets
- Pea Flour: pea flour that requires no allergen labelling, with neutral colour and flavour for minimal formulation impact and contains fibre to help food manufacturers address nutritional demands
- European-sourced Arcon R: soy protein concentrate with clean taste, neutral colour and versatile functionality through different available sizes (coarse, 100 mesh, 200 mesh) and supporting high and low moisture extrusion, meat alternatives, meat extension, bakery applications and dry extrusion
- European-sourced Arcon T: new portfolio of textured soy protein concentrates providing clean taste and formulation flexibility through diverse structure choices and designed for extended meat products and plant-based alternatives.
"By expanding our protein portfolio, we're giving customers more precise, functional solutions that will perform across a wide range of applications," said Tony Payne, Senior Director, Creation, Design and Development, ADM.
He added that the expanded portfolio gave consumers access to protein sources that are "backed by decades of plant-based expertise and global innovation."
