Verdure Sciences’ manufacturing facility in Gujarat, India was recently added to NSF’s NSF/ANSI 455-2 Dietary Supplements Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification.
Earning GMP certification from NSF verifies that a manufacturing facility has the proper methods, equipment, facilities, and controls in place to produce dietary supplement products.
“It is crucial to ensure that the dietary ingredients you are consuming are of the highest quality and comply with regulatory requirements, and we appreciate our ongoing partnership with NSF,” said Ashish Kumar, Regulatory Compliance Officer at Verdure Sciences.
Kumar continued: “We are dedicated to adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices [GMPs] and have obtained certification from NSF to ensure that we’re in compliance with NSF/ANSI 455-2 standards.”
NSF/ANSI 455 are a set of accredited public standards for dietary supplements, cosmetics, and over-the-counter drugs industries. This is an update to the former NSF/ANSI 173 GMPs and “aims to promote safer dietary supplement products for consumers worldwide,” according to NSF’s website.

Kumar explained that: “These standards provide consistent quality management principles, and meeting these requirements is no small feat, especially with the updated standard. As one of the few organizations that have obtained this GMP certification, we take pride in our commitment to quality, safety and regulatory compliance.”
The NSF/ANSI 455 GMP standards are designed to strengthen safety, quality and trust throughout the supply chain, combine regulatory requirements with retailer quality requirements and reduce the number of audits and financial costs associated with audits.
Utilising GMP guidelines assists companies in developing and maintaining proper controls in their manufacturing process so that products are processed, manufactured and labeled in a consistent manner, and meet quality standards.
“The NSF/ANSI 455 GMP mark indicates that an NSF auditor has audited a facility, checked documents and deemed the facility compliant with GMP regulations for production,” said David Trosin, MD Global Health Sciences Certification at NSF. “We’re very pleased to grant NSF/ANSI 455 GMP certification to Verdure Sciences’ manufacturing facility.”
