Symrise Diana Food has entered into an agreement with SMAG Smart Agriculture to develop a customised mobile app that will digitise the company’s global agronomic activities.
Symrise has decided to implement this system to structure, gather, and coordinate all its agro-data in one place using a common language. The app, which is part of the SMAG Agreo business software platform, will create a digital community comprising the company’s thirteen agronomists and its fruit and vegetable producers. It will serve as a repository of the company’s complete knowledge of agronomy.
Collecting and securing information in the field is planned to enable the company to harmonise its vast agronomy data and homogenise agronomy practices at farms across Europe and the Americas. The software will improve scalability, facilitate continuity plans, and make traceability more attractive to all stakeholders, the companies say.

The company is piloting the app in two countries, France and Chile, ahead of global rollout. Phase 1 launch, scheduled for October 2021, will include customised functionalities and development protocols that relate to Symrise. A potential Phase 2 update will include added functionalities and a direct connection to the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform.
