"We are pleased to announce the opening of our Chinese subsidiary in Shanghai. With this new subsidiary, we aim to be closer to our customers and more reactive. We hope to get more cooperation with our Chinese business partners in the future," said Jean-Luc Bordeau, LACTALIS Ingredients Managing Director.
LACTALIS Ingredients have opened a subsidiary in China. The establishment aims to better meet customers needs through a direct presence in the area. The Shanghai team will be fully dedicated to the Chinese market.
The opening of this Chinese subsidiary is perfectly in line with LACTALIS group's global strategy which is to offer dairy products to the greatest number of consumers. It is also LACTALIS Ingredients strategy to support its customers growth in key markets such as infant nutrition and dairy products.
It has become necessary to get closer to China as it is a promising market for dairy ingredients. Today, China is the second-largest economy in the world with annual real GDP growth of 6.6% in 2018. It is also the third-largest recipient of inflows in the world. China's economic growth has been driven by its vast consumer market. Domestic demand is expected to grow and to make consumption a major economic driver for China.
"We are committed to continuously updating our industrial facilities in order to satisfy our customers' unique requirements as well as the ever-changing demands of the market," explained Bordeau.
The French company's portfolio includes a global range of dairy ingredients such as skimmed milk powders, demineralised whey powders, sweet whey powders, lactose, native whey protein and soluble milk protein, whey protein concentrates and isolates covering both the food and nutrition markets.
