Company launches education program to promote healthy ageing and longevity

Global precision fermentation leader and sole global supplier of Ubiquinol, Kaneka Ubiquinol™, today announced its role as Category Sponsor, Healthy Ageing and Longevity, Vitafoods Asia, Conference and Exhibition 2025, as well as its presence at the Vitafoods Asia Healthy Ageing Summit.

Marking its leadership position as supplier of choice for healthy ageing and longevity, Kaneka Ubiquinol will launch the Kaneka Genki Mitochondrial Power Forum, a premium on-stand education series featuring internationally acclaimed healthcare educators, in addition to its representation at the inaugural bespoke Healthy Ageing Summit, to be showcased for the first time at Vitafoods Asia.

By 2050, one in four people in Asia will be aged over 60, creating profound challenges for ageing populations and chronic disease management across the region. Healthcare practitioners are urgently seeking interventions that extend healthspan, alleviating the economic and societal pressures associated with ageing populations and overstretched healthcare systems.

While global life expectancy is projected to rise from 70.7 years in 2010 to 74.5 years by 2030, the years spent in good health are not increasing at the same pace, underscoring the urgency for proactive preventive strategies.

The Kaneka Genki Mitochondrial Power Forum will spotlight cutting-edge science and practical strategies in mitochondrial health. Headline speaker Bobby Mehta, an award-winning pharmacist and educator, will deliver the keynote “Mitochondrial Health & Ubiquinol: The New Frontier in Optimal Wellbeing from Pre-Conception to Healthy Ageing.” He will be joined by Ms Monitar Tan, healthcare practitioner educator, and Ms Jeannie Kwa, HCP marketer, for a dynamic program tailored to product innovators and brand leaders, with a focus on cardiovascular care, cognition, women’s health, energy and recovery, reproductive health, longevity and optimal wellbeing.

Through this initiative, Kaneka Ubiquinol™ continues to build on decades of experience, precision and research, earning recognition as a trusted global leader in mitochondrial health and a foundation of preventive healthcare for healthy ageing and longevity.

New scientific evidence underscores the urgency of rethinking ageing. A recent Cell (2024) study challenges the belief that ageing is a slow decline, showing instead that organ systems undergo distinct biological “cliffs,” with accelerated degeneration between ages 45–55. This midlife tipping point highlights the need for targeted interventions that support mitochondrial resilience.

“In today’s world, where poor sleep, stress, diet and inactivity affect much of the global population, mitochondrial health powered by Ubiquinol has become central to preventive care,” said Bobby Mehta. “Healthcare professionals are reframing ageing not as an inevitable decline, but as a process that can be positively influenced at the cellular level.”

“NPD across VDS ranges is increasingly focused on sub-cellular health underpinned by mitochondrial function, as healthcare practitioners globally seek improved ways of tackling ageing-related conditions to support better health through all life stages,” Mehta said.

“We are seeing a real shift in how ageing is understood by healthcare professionals, not as an unavoidable decline, but as a process rooted in the health of our cells that we can positively support through natural compounds like Ubiquinol,” said Mehta.

“This really drives home that mitochondrial health is no longer a fringe idea. It is rapidly becoming a cornerstone of preventive care, with growing recognition that it may be the key to help expand healthspan so that we can have a good quality of life across every stage of life,” he concluded.

Complementing the education program, the Kaneka Genki Pavilion will offer a premium, immersive, multi-sensory Japanese experience designed to showcase Kaneka’s heritage, innovation and commitment to quality. Attendees will be invited to explore the science, culture and precision behind Ubiquinol™ through a unique and engaging pavilion experience.

Attendees are invited to join the Kaneka Genki Mitochondrial Power Forum and experience the Pavilion at Vitafoods Asia 2025, Stand C17.
