Finzelberg, a global supplier of active botanical extracts for pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements, has released its new plant-based brain ingredient, Concental.
The branded ingredient has been specifically developed to support brain health and cognitive function in high-stress scenarios, which has been proven in a number of studies conducted by the company.
According to Finzelberg, the ingredient can assist in regulating cerebral blood flow to the brain, as well as influencing levels of serotonin, noradrenaline and dopamine in the brain.
“At Finzelberg, we focus on developing botanical extract solutions that offer additional value for brands and meet modern consumer demands,” said Finzelberg's Senior Expert in Branded Ingredients, Martin Felkner.
The beneficial impacts of Concental on the brain are due to an abundance of phenolic acids, which are present in Sideritis plants, which make up the composition of this functional ingredient.
“From our proprietary clinical trial data we can see significant beneficial effects on the ability to process information while increasing mental flexibility and memory,” commented Dr René Roth-Ehrang, Member of the Management Board Development and Quality at Finzelberg.
Concental was developed for a diverse group of consumers — from athletes and gamers to the individuals who need to cope with demanding daily life situations.
The nutraceutical is also targeted at the ageing population.
