Qualia Life Sciences has released the results of two clinical studies proving that Qualia NAD+ can boost serum NAD+ levels when taken daily.
The dietary supplement is designed to support cellular longevity, mitochondrial functioning and ATP production, while also contributing to an individual's healthy ageing.
The formulation consists of 14 separate nutraceuticals, including ChromaDex's Nicotinamide Riboside, Niagen®, Aquamin® MG by Marigot and Coffeeberry®, which have all been implicated in cellular health.
Qualia NAD+ also contains resveratrol and other polyphenols with an antioxidant capacity — supporting a user's metabolism, heart health, immunity and cognition.
During the 28 day study, it was found that Qualia NAD+ could boost NAD+ levels by 67%, which exceeds the NAD+ increases achieved in prior clinical studies with similar supplements, according to the company.
Overcoming the NAD+ challenge
NAD+ is a crucial coenzyme in every living cell, and is involved in the processes of energy metabolism and DNA repair, while also contributing to the protection of cells from environmental stressors.
It is estimated that NAD+ levels plummet to half of what they were at age 20 by age 40, meaning individuals can often feel the ill effects of ageing if they don't replace their cellular levels.
NAD+ supplements have been on the market for a while, though they are often characterised by significant hurdles, including bioavailability and price.
