According to research from Mintel, one in four people have consumed sports nutrition products in the past three months, rising to 42% of men aged 16–24 years old.
Kerry Dodd, Business Manager, Health & Nutrition, Cornelius, said: “The market has changed with the emergence of the ‘active consumer’ who is health conscious, exercises regularly and buys high quality products. The lines between sports nutrition and consumer health are blurring with more sports products now catering for the general consumer.”
As active lifestyle trends grow and more health-conscious consumers look for products that boost their general health and well-being, Cornelius will be focusing on new concepts in ‘feel good’ functional food and drink solutions at Food Matters Live, which will be held 21–23 November at the ExCel in London.
Following a similar format to last year’s event, Cornelius will be hosting a unique pavilion-style stand and will be surrounded by some of its suppliers to demonstrate the breadth of its product portfolio and capabilities to visitors.
The line-up includes Ceamsa, a manufacturer and supplier of a comprehensive range of high quality carrageenan and pectin products to the global food industry, Lonza Nutrition, a leading provider of high quality branded food ingredients, and Nielson Massey, a leading producer of vanilla extracts.
Mrs Dodd continued: “Attending Food Matters Live 2017 with our partners is a great opportunity to showcase the breadth of our supplier relationships and products for the food & beverage industry."
"We will be able to show how our high-quality ingredients enhance nutritional value and texture and provide a better product to consumers without compromising flavour, function and overall appeal of products on the market.”
Offering a range of raw materials and specialist ingredients, Cornelius delivers a portfolio for the bakery, beverage, confectionery, convenience food, dairy, ice-cream, sports nutrition and supplement markets.
