Swiss fragrance and flavour company Firmenich has elected Barbara Kux to its board of directors. Kux previously served on the Firmenich board from May 2008 to October 2011, but stepped down at the end of her three-year term as her role in the managing board of Siemens required so much of her time.
Firmenich says Kux, 59, brings “many years of exceptional executive management experience” to the role; in 2008, she was the first woman appointed to the managing board of Siemens with responsibilities for Supply Chain Management, Sustainability and Global Shared Services. Prior to joining Siemens, Kux was a member of the group management committee at Royal Philips Electronics. She is also currently a member of the board of directors of Total S.A. and Umicore S.A, as a well as a member of the supervisory board of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA.
