Clasado's R&D Director Dr Lucien Harthoorn appointed to ILSI Europe Board of Directors

ILSI Europe focuses on bolstering collaboration and unity between academics and figures in the nutrition industry to offer consumers high quality products

Clasado Biosciences' Dr Lucien Harthoorn has been appointed to the Board of Directors at the International Life Sciences Institute Europe (ILSI Europe).

What is ILSI Europe?

ILSI Europe is a not-for-profit in the nutrition industry that focuses on collaboration to provide guidance to the food sector. The organisation aims to build greater cohesion between academics, industry figures and public service experts — making the indstry capable of providing safe, environmentally-conscious and nutritionally valuable food supplies for all.

Dr Harthoorn commented: “ILSI Europe promotes science grounded in quality and integrity, creating peer-reviewed publications, reports, guidance documents, webinars, symposia and more. What’s more, ILSI Europe has a designated prebiotics taskforce, which includes our R&D Senior Scientist, Dr Georgina Dodd."

"The taskforce investigates the potential of prebiotics in supporting wellbeing and seeks to accelerate our collective understanding of how gut microbiome modulation fits into the modern health landscape.”

In the three-year role, Dr Harthoorn will help define the strategic direction of ILSI Europe, will assist in the development of the Scientific Advisory Committee, and contribute to the election of Board Officers.

CEO at Clasado Biosciences Per Rehne added: “We are thrilled at Dr Harthoorn’s appointment. He will no doubt make great contributions. He is a motivated and highly accomplished scientist and is pivotal in supporting our own innovation pipeline. As the organisation continues to create useful resources using evidence-based science, we look forward to seeing how Dr Harthoorn makes his mark on the Board of Directors.”
