The facility provides new dairy, culinary and snack development capabilities, while also positioning the company closer to a key market region

Symrise has inaugurated its new EUR €1.5m office and laboratory space in Beijing, China.

The 800mfacility in North China houses development capabilities for the beverage, dairy, culinary and snack sectors, and aims to serve the evolving Asian food market.

The strategic move also brings Symrise closer to its Chinese customer base, while facilitating potential new partnerships with companies in the region.

China's diverse and evolving tastes, as well as the increasing of urbanisation, has led to the stronger demand for beverages, dairy, culinary and snacks.

Symrise plan to cater to this market by keeping an eye on local preferences, while also responding rapidly to current market trends.

The labs found at the new centre have specialised beverage and dairy creation zones, as well as savory creation capabilities centring around snacks and seasonings.

The site can also offer support to its regional customers.

"China represents a crucial market for Symrise, owing to its dynamic and rapidly growing consumer base in food & beverage applications. As a logical consequence we have expanded our Beijing site to significantly enhance our R&D capabilities," said Walter Ribeiro, Global President, Food & Beverage at Symrise. "With a focus on customer proximity and technical excellence, this facility will serve as a vital hub for innovation and customer collaboration.

“This strategic positioning enhances our ability to innovate and introduce new products tailored to Chinese consumers,” added Robert Marti, VP North Asia, Food & Beverage at Symrise. “It also strengthens our engagements with local food and beverage producers. As we continue to develop and optimize our offerings, both our customers and consumers will benefit from a broader range of high-quality products, leading to increased satisfaction and loyalty in this key region.”
