Glatt showcases its bioavailability-boosting protein processing solutions at FiE 2024

Published: 25-Sep-2024

The company will exhibit its range of solutions to improve the functional properties of protein-based powders, granules, agglomerates and pellets

Glatt has announced its attendance to this year's FiE.

The event, which is being held form the 19–21 November, will see the company showcase its soluble and dust-free proteins, as well as its collagen and functional ingredient solutions.

At FiE, visitors will also be able to discuss Glatt's solutions that can improve the functional properties of powders, granules, agglomerates and pellets for the nutraceutical and F&B industries.

Glatt will place a sharp focus on functional and alternaetive proteins — which the company believes is a rapidly growing market.

Proteins that display a high level of solubility and are dust-free, are currently in high demand, with collagens, protein hydrolysates and hydrocolloids all increasing in demand.

To create high quality products for the nutraceutical industry, continuous processes such as powder agglomeration, liquid drying with simultaneous spray granulation and hot melt coating are ideal for the protection of large volume particles.

According to Glatt, its fluid bed solutions can offer companies these capabilities better than standard spray tower drying methods.

Fluid bed particles have less dust and are significantly more soluble than conventional spray-dried products.

Hendrik Schreier, Head of the Sales Team for Process Technology Food, Feed & Fine Chemicals at Glatt Ingenieurtechnik, commented: “FiE highlights a variety of raw materials and ingredients — from technical additives that need improved functionality for increasingly specific applications to active ingredients for food supplements that require the use of suitable processes to increase their effectiveness in the human body.”

“With our expertise,” he adds, “we can help with the design of fluid bed systems for individual requirements and end products, as well as discuss the pros and cons of specific processes.”

Attendees can meet Glatt at Stand J60 in Hall 3.0.
