The company offers a range of oat 'milks' and ready-to-drink coffee solutions at competitive prices

Framptons, an independent plant-based drinks company, has created the Wessex Oat Company, a novel range of oat drinks available for retailers to put their own formulaic spin on, with the potential to use the base for their own label.

Launching initially in the discount channel, Wessex Oat Company’s range can offer as a cost-effective and sustainable option for retailers to break into the plant-based market, according to the company.

The Wessex Oat Company’s product portfolio is exclusively sourced from the fields of Wessex, reducing the food miles necessary for the production of these plant-based ‘milks’.

The range includes:

  • Unsweetened oat
  • Barista oat
  • Chocolate oat
  • Oat latte
  • Caramel latte

The company will also launch Creamy Oat — a single cream alternative — later this year.

All the products in this lineup also hold the Red Tractor certification, which confirms the company’s efforts in assuring high quality and traceability of its products from farm to fridge.

Managing Director at Framptons, Andrew Rimell, stated: "With our range of oat-based drinks, we're not only introducing producs, but also advocating for a sustainable future and supporting the cherished tradition of British farming. The Wessex Oat Company range offers retailers, wholesalers and discounters an opportunity to align with consumer demands for ethical, sustainable and delicious plant-based options at affordable prices below the level of the major brands, giving an own label equivalent value proposition.”
