Pure Nootropics is proud to announce the release of their brand new krill oil. Krill oil is an extract prepared from a species of Antarctic krill and contains high amounts of the omega-3 fatty acids docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).

The health benefits of krill oil have been widely documented and are believed to include increased joint health, heart function and cognitive function.

According to studies performed by the US National Library of Medicine, the high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids found in krill oil 'increase vigour and reduced anger, anxiety and depression states.' It has also produced 'beneficial effects on cardiovascular disease (CVD) in patients with pre-existing CVD as well as in healthy individuals.'

Finally, krill oil taken at 'a daily dose of 300mg significantly inhibits inflammation and reduces arthritic symptoms within a short treatment period of 7 and 14 days.'

While fish oil has long been used for health worldwide, scientists who study krill oil versus fish oil have concluded that the presence of phospholipids in krill help the body to absorb the DHA and EPA better when compared with fish oil. Krill also contains the antioxidant, astaxanthin, which gives the oil its distinctive red colour.

Pure Nootropics suggests a serving of 1-3g daily and strongly discourages users from taking it if they have an allergy to fish or shellfish.
