Ingredients by Nature (IBN) has announced increased capacity and a ‘no-minimums’ policy for its dedicated freeze-drying services. With immediate availability, the company says its freeze-drying division is ready for projects in various industries, including nutraceuticals.

The company has had freeze drying capabilities for 75 years, largely to address internal production. After continual updates and consistent results, the company says, leadership recognised the need for facilities to perform services from custom freeze-dry pilots to full runs.

“We’ve been expanding our capabilities for years and have found the market demand for experienced operations growing,” said Rob Brewster, President of Ingredients by Nature. “In this rapidly changing environment, companies can’t wait months to get back an ingredient or formulation from a pilot - they need to move much quicker. We can now meet that need at scale from the smallest order to a full run.”

Freeze-drying is designed to maintain the potency of a formulation, where other drying methods may degrade important compounds that can upset their biochemical balance. “Research has shown that the process of freeze-drying can actually protect and retain much of the nutritional quality in the product,” said Brewster. “In fact, freeze-drying has been proven to retain the purity and power of the product, even when presented in powder forms.”
