This prize rewards Ingredia’s collaboration with the startup Connecting Food

Ingredia has received an award for its social and environmental commitment at the 5th edition of the EY Food Industry Award 2021, in partnership with the National Association of Food Industries (ANIA).

The "Prize for societal and environmental commitment," presented by the MD of Lesaffre, is recognition of Ingredia’s committed and collective action in the service of a sustainable dairy production rooted in a living territory.

According to the organiser, "in the current context of economic and social crisis linked to the Covid-19 Crisis, the ANIA and EY teams are more than ever keen to reward and value companies that have been able to resist and adapt to feed the French despite the difficulties. Business leaders and their employees who embody the future of the French food industry."

This prize rewards Ingredia’s collaboration with the startup Connecting Food to launch a milk product connected with blockchain technology. The company offers bottles of milk, cream and dairy ingredients under blockchain with real time audit by the consumer.

The technology connects breeders and consumers, providing access to the origin of the milk. The breeders of Prospérité Fermière, located within a radius of 80 km around the Ingredia dairy, are committed to respecting the company's sustainability specifications: cows fed without GMOs, straw in the barn, minimum grazing area for animal welfare, guaranteed price to the breeder.

"We are very honoured by this award, which rewards the efforts made for several years by all the actors of our company, farmers, transporters, employees, partners or customers, to strengthen our responsible approach towards society and the environment. We are proud to be a leader in dairy innovation to better feed the planet and protect the environment and people’s health," said Sandrine Delory, General Manager of Ingredia.
