Calmaluma was developed as an expansion of Gencor’s current mental wellness ingredients

Gencor has launched Calmaluma, a patented ingredient for stress and anxiety. The ingredient consists of a Caralluma Fimbriata extract, derived from a cactus-like plant, which has been clinically researched for its ability to ease stress and anxiety in adults.

“While stress and anxiety have been prevalent in our communities for some time, the need for treatment approaches has been exacerbated by the current pandemic,” said Chase Shryoc, Vice President of Sales and Business Development. “The cactus from which Calmaluma is derived has been used in tribal India for years. It was consumed to ward off hunger and increase endurance in regions where sustenance wasn’t readily available. The unexpected yet beneficial outcome of its consumption is often an overwhelming feeling of calmness, which is the impetus of Gencor’s interest in the plant extract. Similar to our other ingredients, Calmaluma has been clinically researched for both its safety and functionality, providing additional assurance for those who suffer the burdens of stress and anxiety.”

Gencor also distributes affron by Pharmactive, which is a patented 100% traceable extract of saffron stigmas designed for relaxation, mental and physical balance and maintenance of positive mood. The company says in both cases, it emphasises supply chain validation, applied from ingredient source to the finished product, to ensure purity and potency.
