Gadot Biochemical Industries has launched a new sports nutrition-specific citrate mineral line. Gadosport is the new line that aims to provide sports nutrition brand manufacturers with essential nutrients athletes and fitness enthusiasts need pre-, during, and post-performance with the correct mineral balance they require.
According to Youval Saly, Vice President of Sales for Israel-based Gadot Biochemical Industries, magnesium is essential for individuals who exercise and compete with intense physical output as this mineral plays a significant role in the active transport of calcium and potassium ions across cell membranes. This is a process that is critical for nerve impulse conduction, muscle contraction and normal heart rhythm.
"Therefore, magnesium is an important component for effective post-play or post-exercise recovery. Currently, many recovery sports drinks are lacking this mineral, so there's a wide opportunity for market differentiation," added Saly.
The new ingredient line includes:
- Gadosport 120: For post-workout/performance and recovery formulas targeting compensation for mineral losses during extended or intense physical activity.
- Gadosport 121: For products aimed at helping sustain energy needed for exercise or competition by maintaining the desired mineral balance.
- Gadosport 123: A direct source of magnesium that doesn't require water for absorption and utilisation. This unique dosage form is similar to pop rocks and in various flavours, an attractive solution to pill and powder fatigue.
The Gadosport line provides added values for branded manufacturers, plus no after taste, no preservatives, and are citrate-based, Saly noted.
According to Grand View Research Inc., the sports nutrition market is expected to reach approximately $24.5 billion by 2025, with the sports supplement segment expected to have the swiftest CAGR of 10.5%.
