First glance at Laïta and Epi Ingredients' new nutrition division at Gulfood

Published: 21-Mar-2018

With the official launch in December of their new state-of-the-art facility, mainly dedicated to powdered nutrition products, Laïta and Epi Ingredients decided to bring together all of their nutrition-focused activities under a whole new division

Designed to leverage their 30+ years of expertise in this field, and complete with its own name, logo and, most importantly, dedicated experts, the new division was unveiled for the first time at Gulfood.

Epi Ingredients, the dry ingredients division of dairy co-operative - Laïta - and one of the world’s experts in dairy ingredients, is excited for this new strategic milestone in the company’s efforts to carry on its mission: “To offer innovative and functional dairy-based sources of shared enjoyment and good health while sustainably promoting the milk of their farmer owners."

“The creation of this new division, ESI Nutrition, is a commitment to better serve our customers, so they can in turn better serve the end consumer, ultimately strengthening our position in the global nutrition market," explains Mathieu Lucot, Marketing Manager at Epi Ingredients.

“With this dedicated team and specialised resources in place, we are a reliable partner for companies operating in various areas of the nutrition sector who are looking for steady support in launching successful new products under their own brands,” he adds.

Whether they are looking for liquid or dry solutions, Laïta’s new nutrition division can provide products, both in bulk and individual packaging ready for retail. Visitors at Gulfood 2018 were able to discover the company’s full nutrition portfolio, ranging from infant formulas to adult nutrition and specialised medical nutrition products:

  • Stage 1 to Stage 3 baby formulas (standard and premium)
  • prepackaged liquid milk for infant and expecting mothers, formulated to meet the specific needs of each targeted demographic
  • food for Special Medical Purpose (FSMP) such as paediatric drinks, gelled water for dysphagia patients, etc.
  • baby food products such as UHT yoghurt-like desserts and puddings
  • high protein drinks and puddings customised to the specific needs of adult nutrition (diabetic, undernourished, recovering)
  • and more!

“With a production site dedicated to UHT processing and aseptic filling and our new cutting-edge drying tower with canning capabilities, both following a GMP Pharma approach, we can offer safe products in a variety of shelf-stable formats and sizes with high quality packaging,” states Lucot.

“This long shelf-life component is increasingly important as more and more consumers are seeking tasty on-the-go options to enhance their daily nutrition and that of their little ones.”

ESI Nutrition, which garnered considerable attention at the show, is committed to helping brands develop “Safe, Easy-to-use, Tasty and Healthy” nutrition products, and it has the resources to do so.

With their formulation and process expertise as well as second to none project management skills, our dedicated team is here to help customers gain an edge in this highly competitive market by launching performing products under their own brand with a reduced time-to-market.
