Bionov product reduces stress and fatigue while improving cognitive performance

SOD B Extramel, a dietary supplement made from dried Cantaloupe melon juice with a high concentration of Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), has been found to reduce stress and physical fatigue, as well as improve cognitive performance, in a new clinical study published in the journal Nutrients.

The product is manufactured by French company Bionov, located in Avignon. The company says this is the second clinical study to support the performance of the product.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 450 million people, or 30% of the global population, suffer from mental disorders. SOD B Extramel is said to represent an efficient well-being solution in the growing segment of stress and cognition. It was awarded the European Anti-stress Promising Ingredient of the Year Award in 2008.

The new double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, performed on 61 people, reported a significant reduction of stress (-8.8%) and physical fatigue (-9.4%), as well as an improvement of cognitive performances (+13.9%) after three months of oral supplementation at 10mg/day, i.e. 140 IU SOD/day.
